Snapping Turtle Pictures

Just prior to doing some horseback riding on a beach, I decided to do a little walking. I had hoped to see some nice sea birds. Seemed like a reasonable expectation to me.

Instead, I came across a snapping turtle. At first I didn't know what it was as I saw it in the distance. It was "running", but a turtle seemed so out of place on the beach that my mind wasn't able to process the image. However, as I approached it became obvious that I was being presented with an opportunity to take pictures of a snapping turtle. No complaints here. Being away from water, this turtle had little choice but to endure me and my camera. Lucky me.
