Triangle Ranch Bed and Breakfast in South Dakota's Badlands
The Triangle Ranch Bed & Breakfast near Philip is a unique place to stay if you're vacationing near Badlands National Park in South Dakota.
Hosts Kenny and Lyndy Ireland warmly welcomed us to their 1923 Spanish-style Sears, Roebuck & Co. mail-order Honor Bilt kit home (“Alhambra” model). Tastefully decorated in 1920 decor, it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The ranch, established in 1903 by Lyndy's great-grandfather, is named for its horse and cattle brand.
After a restful night's sleep in one of the four guest rooms, we enjoyed a delicious full breakfast. Then Kenny gave us a tour of the ranch.
Philip is where State Highway 73 and U.S. Highway 14 meet, some 15 miles north of I-90 and roughly halfway between Pierre and Rapid City. The Triangle Ranch is southwest of Philip and about 6 miles north of I-90.
