Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Strategies, Tactics, and Commentary
It can be hard to explain what SEO is to someone that hasn’t heard or read about it before. There’s a very high-level way to describe such as:
“Search engine optimization is the effort to get your web site in front of customers at the exact moment that they are expressing interest in your product or service via a search in a search engine.”
While the above might make for a good elevator pitch, it glosses over the details. Those details are the hundreds of little things you can do to a site to increase its relevancy in the eyes of the search engines while still maintaining (or even improving) the user experience. And then there are the equally numerous off-site activities that are needed to increase the authority or trust of a site.
It’s these pesky details that the SEO section on Infolific will cover. Sometimes I’ll go back to basics and at other times I’ll at more advanced techniques. On occasion I’ll even toss in an SEO experiment to assess how Google is dealing with things. However, in the end it’ll be up to you to figure out an SEO strategy that is right for your site and to select the appropriate tactics to support that strategy.
And maybe one day we’ll cross paths in the SERPs. Good luck!
