Review of Arctic Valor Slot Game

Microgaming and Crazy Tooth Studio released arctic Valor in February 2019. The game is a six reel game and offers the player over four thousand ways to win with the chance to win up to over six thousands times their original stake. The game carries a Return to Player percentage of 96.7% and a medium volatility. The game at mega reel allows a bet as small as 15p and as high as £15 per spin.

The graphics and sounds are amazing and you can almost feel the icy chill when playing the game. As you would expect the game is set in the icy wastelands of the arctic and comes complete with icicles and snowflakes amongst other symbols. 

It takes on the fantasy theme of Valkyrie inspired by Norse mythology and many other slot games that carry similar themes, however, with Arctic Valor Microgaming and Crazy Tooth Studio have added the icy theme to make the game a little more interesting. 

The game has its regular wilds, scatters and free spins and a random bonus game called Icicle. Because the game offers over four thousand different ways to win it also offers the option of stacked symbols given the player more ways to win. 

The Wild symbol is easily identified due to it simply saying WILD. As always its overrides any other symbol except the scatter, which in the case of Arctic Valor is a rather beautiful mandala snowflake. It isn't available during the Arctic Valor bonus game but is available at other times. There are eleven other symbols within the game and these range from Valkyrie characters, four different ones in total and all with different colours surrounding them and all of them adopting a different pose. There are also different weapon symbols, two swords crossing and a bow and arrow as well as a helmet with wings and a shield. The three lowest paying symbols, every game has to have them, all resemble different weapons with a snowflake theme. 

So how do you win?

Three or more scatters will activate the Arctic Valor bonus game, which in turn will grant the player up to seven bonus spins, and with each bonus spin the icicle feature will be triggered. Once triggered the icicles will land onto the reels allowing the player to press on them and reveal the prizes behind them. They will be either cash prizes or further wild symbols, all which then allow the player to keep going. 

Arctic Valor is a cool game to play, no pun intended. The graphics, sounds and features enhance what could be a fairly normal theme of Norse legends to another level. The background music has a mythical and spiritual feel to it, bizarrely creating quite a sense of serenity yet with drumming in the background too and the tempo increases with the excitement of the game.
