• Maintain those standards. Your standards of safety will be pivotal in injury prevention. Whether it's vacuuming carpets for loose nails or ensuring that all stairways have handrails, you have to make sure that you are maintaining safety. The easiest way to manage and prevent workplace injuries is to put safety first – always.
• Create the right environment. No employer wants people to be litigious in their daily workings, but if you create a safe, correct environment, they won't be! Your environment should allow workers to feel comfortable enough to report hazards and any dangers that they come across. They should be able to do so without any worry of backlash for reporting wrongdoings. You can offer safety-related awards, have a strong presence in the workplace and set up space for feedback to be given.
• Educate people about their rights. One of the easiest ways to ensure that people feel comfortable and loyal is to educate them about their rights and their responsibilities at work. One of the most common issues at the workplace is slips and trips, and if you are ensuring that these are covered, you're golden from day one. You should be sure, too, to provide the right safety gear so that people feel safe when they come to work.
