6 Housecleaning Tips to Keep Your Home in Tip-Top Shape Year-Round
Keeping up with the daily housekeeping is a drag, but it doesn't have to take all your time. You can make cleanliness habits that work for you and follow them instinctively. Yes, there are still times where I'm not able to keep my home as tidy as possible (especially during those pesky moments when life gets crazy) but following these 6 cleaning tips will give me some peace of mind knowing that things won’t get too out-of-hand in between deep cleans!
Put Things Back After Use
If you don't put your things away now, they will become a big mess. The easiest way to keep track of all the items is by doing quick scans as you move from one room to another and putting them in their appropriate places right after using them. It can be tough at first but it only takes some time before habits are formed and those little piles turn into big ones!
Clean One Room At A Time
So, if you're too busy to do the whole house on a given day or even just one room, try this new method: Tackle each task by its little tasks. By splitting up your cleaning into manageable chunks of time and space (you know – rooms), it will be easier for you to maintain order in all parts of your home at once.
The easiest way I've found so far is taking things step-by-step instead of trying to tackle everything at once! It's kind of my project management technique that has helped me stay sane when life gets hectic.
Maintain A Schedule
What is the best way to keep your house clutter-free? According to cleanzen, it’s get organized! Create a cleaning schedule on your fridge or wall and make sure it includes what needs to be done when it’s due. You’ll find that you enjoy coming home at night because of how clean everything looks instead of trying not to step in anything spilled all over the floor.
Do Power Clean
Nobody likes to sleep in a messy house! A nightly “power” cleanup can help you tackle piles of clutter before they start. Involve your family members and set up an alarm timer so that everyone has 15 minutes per night dedicated to cleaning. Start with the areas where items pose the biggest mess, like your kitchen or kids' bedroom, then move on to those rooms which see most traffic throughout the day such as hallways or foyers.
One Load Per Day
How do you stay on top of the laundry in your household? Well, for us it starts with taking out one load first thing every morning. If we don’t have a chance to dry them before leaving work {if you're an outside worker}, put your machine on delay so that when you get home there is already something waiting! Otherwise, just turn it on as soon as possible and let those clothes go through their cycle while they wait patiently for someone else's hands.
Do The Declutter
Decluttering your home doesn't have to be a one-time event. Clearing out and organizing the clutter in your space will make it much easier for you, as well as all of those who live with you, to keep things cleaner daily. Declutter by sectioning off different areas of the house (kids' room, kitchen area) or give each member their pile when they come over so everyone can contribute to making sure everything is put away properly when they're done using it!
