Spam Statistics

The last page of the January 15, 2006 edition of CIO Magazine listed a bunch of spam statistics that I thought were quite interesting. Here are the best items of the lot.

• According to antispam vendor Postini, there were 3.65 billion spam e-mails delivered in the last 30 days.
• The spam delivered in the last 6 months totaled 118 terabytes. This is twelve times the size of the Library of Congress' printed collection.
• The US hosts 31% of spam e-mails.
• Of e-mail sent, 67% is spam.
