Software Worth Using Carnival - 1st Edition
This is the first edition of the Carnival of Software Worth Using. My hope with this carnival is to learn about software that other people have found useful.
First up, Mark Levison asks if you're Tired of Notepad? Want a better text editor?. Close on his heels, James Barton presents what he believes to be the Perfect Replacement for Windows Notepad. And hey,
I might as well throw my two cents in with my Best Free Text Editors article.
Now that you've got text editing needs in order, it's time to do the same with your finances. To that end, we have David E. and his article on Using Personal Finance Software for Your Success.
Moving away from the desktop and on to the web, we have a short article from Lucas McDonnell about Free Knowledge Tools to Make You More Efficient. In it he covers tools such as Google Desktop Search, FireFox, and OpenOffice.
And to wrap up this edition, Jason Kolb presents Little Known Ways to Use RSS.
Thanks to everyone for their submissions! If anyone is interested in hosting the next edition, let me know in the comments section of this post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the next announcement from me. In the meantime, feel free to keep on submitting articles.

Mark / Tamar,
Thanks for your comments. I hope you both can submit something for the next edition. I suppose if there's enough interest I'll come up with specific themes, but until then the door is pretty much wide-open. Although truth be told I excluded a few submissions that didn't quite seem to fit the spirit of the carnival.
Nice article -- and cool carnival. Totally didn't catch that one. I'll have to think about something to contribute.
Thanks for including my article on text editors. I will publish a few more software tool articles in the next few weeks.
