Switching to FeedBurner

Anyone that runs a blog should also set up an RSS feed to help people keep up to date with new postings. RSS feeds are also useful for distributing links to your site on various other sites. The problem with most RSS feeds is that there is little built in to them to let you track how many subscribers you have.

Enter FeedBurner, a service that allows you to create feeds that provide you with subscriber counts and other information (some of the information is free, while other pieces require a fee). If you're just starting with a site, it makes sense to sign-up with FeedBurner for the benefits they provide. However, if your site has been around for a while, you probably, like me, have some concerns of doing anything to your feeds.

Fortunately, the folks at FeedBurner have provided step-by-step instructions for reconfiguring an existing feed so that existing and new subscribers will automatically pick up the FeedBurner version.

This is my first post since the conversion so it also serves as a test. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
