Is Online CPR and First Aid Certification Valid?

Is this considered legal certification? I have taken the real in class test and gotten certified but it expired and I wanted to know I could just do an online one.

Most places will only accept certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. They do not offer online tests, because a very important part of any test - even a re-certification test - is demonstrating the skills properly. For instance, you might know the proper depth of compressions - but are you actually performing them at that depth? Any online course is going to require you to pay for their certificate or card, and you'll wind up with a certification that most places won't accept. I'd just get in touch with your local ARC or AHA and take care of it that way.

There are several websites where you can take the CPR test for free, but you have to pay for the certificate and unfortunately these are not accepted by most State Licensing Boards. The sites are good for refreshers only. Try contacting either your local Red Cross chapter, or the American Heart Association. If you need your certificate for your job, ask if they pay for the training or if they would reimburse you when you pass the exam.

You have to prove yourself proficient in CPR techniques so no I don't think you can get the certification online. Contact the Red Cross, the American Heart Association, and/or your local community college, I'm sure at least one of these sources offers classes periodically.
