Can I Teach CPR To My Students?
bpsgirl1 answered:
No, you can not teach it to your students unless you are a certified CPR instructor. You might be able to show it to your students but please stress the fact that you are not teaching them and they should not attempt CPR unless they are trained and certified themselves. Otherwise you could be held liable if they use CPR on anyone incorrectly because you "taught it to them that way". Be careful, there is a lot of responsibility that comes with CPR certification, but teaching it to others is not one of them.
Jan J answered:
Are you kidding? Are you certified to teach or just certifiable? Do you have any idea what the ramifications would be if you one of your students screwed up doing CPR after you taught them?
Katie answered:
I'm sure you can show it too them, but they will not become certified themselves.

Oh and that said, compression only CPR is what they are referring too.
American Heart Association and Mayo Clinic recommends that even people who are not certified try to help by delivering chest compressions at 100 per minute even if they are not certified.
"The bottom line is that it's far better to do something than to do nothing at all if you're fearful that your knowledge or abilities aren't 100 percent complete. Remember, the difference between your doing something and doing nothing could be someone's life."

If I were you I would find a way to instruct them through the Red Cross or American Heart Association and their materials.
