I live close to Manhattan. And yet when the weekend rolls around I'm more likely to head north to go hiking rather to head south into the City. What can I say? I like being outdoors walking along rivers and among the trees.
There's a lot of good hiking in NY, but really nothing beats the National Parks. I've been to the popular ones like Yosemite and Yellowstone, but I've also got other not so popular places on my list.
If you're interested in the history of the National Parks and how they came to be, you've come to the right place! I hope you enjoy the stories in these pages.
